World Quantum Day at Universidad de Montevideo

General public, students

By:

Laura Gatti, Rodrigo Acosta, Ariel Mordetzki, Juan Pablo Sotelo

Where:

Saldún de Rodriguez 2307, Montevideo, Uruguay

In-person event

For this day we offer several activities aimed at the public outside the area:

• An introductory talk on what QC is and the possibilities it offers in different branches of science, engineering, and finally in industry. The concepts of quantum state, superposition, and measurement will be addressed.

• A workshop, where those interested can create an IBM-Quantum account and run a small quantum algorithm themselves. They should be familiar with the notions of quantum gates and quantum measurements. They will be able to understand for themselves in very reduced examples the advantages offered by this type of computing compared to the classic one.

The talk will be given by Ph.D. (c) Laura Gatti, while the workshop will be conducted by the entire R&D team of the Universidad de Montevideo and Quantum South, who will be interacting with the participants giving them support at all times.

Organisers: Universidad de Montevideo, Quantum South
