Over the past few years, we have witnessed significant developments in the area of quantum communication, driven by both - national initiatives undertaken by countries globally, as well as investments by the tech industry.
While on one hand quantum computing promises power to solve problems that are computationally complex or intractable for classical computers, on the other, this very power creates a threat to the current public key infrastructure and renders the current encryption models vulnerable. Regulatory requirements and business imperatives to counter this threat, are driving efforts by governments and businesses to assess their current systems and to prepare to migrate towards a quantum-safe future.
