In-person event

This year, Trinity College Dublin’s School of Physics is celebrating World Quantum Day with a showcase of five exciting quantum games developed by Trinity’s very own Quantum Science and Technology MSc students!

The showcase will feature quantum versions of beloved classics Tic Tac Toe, Bingo and Werewolf as well as introducing completely new games, Quantum Wars and Hidden Parameters. Each of the games leverages, by analogy, uniquely quantum phenomena like superposition (the ability of quantum systems to be in two states at once) and entanglement (the ability of quantum systems to exhibit non-local correlations).

Understanding how and when these properties arise in nature is of fundamental importance to science and the quantum games showcase simple and fun ways to gain insight into them.

So, whether you are considering a career path in quantum science, are currently studying, or are just curious to learn more about the work we do here, we would love to see you next Friday at Trinity College Dublin to meet the creators of the quantum games and to try them out yourself!

Quantum Play takes place in the Fitzgerald Library (inside the Fitzgerald Building: https://goo.gl/maps/PVEskVCR8KPda1A4A) on Trinity’s main campus from 2.30pm until 5pm.

Organisers: School of Physics, Trinity College Dublin
